- Ground parallel pipe cutting threads
- Spiral point design for through-hole tapping
- Straight flutes allow coolant access
- Suitable for hand tapping without a separate lead tap
- UK made
BS EN ISO 228-1 covers parallel pipe threads where pressure-tight joints are not made on the threads. Together with Part 2, it supersedes BS 2779. This reference relates to the thread system. Please contact us before ordering to confirm compliance certification availability.
Use the correct tapping drill and a suitable cutting lubricant for the workpiece material. Keep the tap aligned with the hole and allow clearance for swarf to exit ahead of the cutting point. Where a pressure-tight connection is required, use a suitable sealing arrangement outside the threads, such as a sealing washer or O-ring appropriate to the fitting design.
