Product Description
5/16" BSW Whitworth Unplated Steel Hexagon Head Set Screws
These 5/16" BSW hexagon head set screws are manufactured from high tensile steel with an unplated self colour finish. They feature an 18 TPI British Standard Whitworth thread for use with matching BSW nuts or tapped holes.
The fully threaded design provides thread engagement along the shank, while the hexagon head allows tightening with a correctly fitting spanner or socket. These imperial fixings are useful for maintenance, restoration and engineering work on assemblies using Whitworth threads.
Key Features
- 5/16" BSW thread: British Standard Whitworth thread with 18 threads per inch.

Choosing and Fitting Your Set Screws
Check that the mating nut or tapped hole is 5/16" BSW with 18 TPI. Select a length that allows sufficient thread engagement without bottoming out in a blind hole.
Measure the required length from beneath the hexagon head. Use a spanner or socket that fits the head closely and tighten to the requirements of the assembly.
The unplated steel finish does not provide a plated corrosion barrier. Apply suitable corrosion protection where the fixings will be exposed to moisture.
Select your required length and pack quantity from the available options.
