<p>Metric galvanised hex shear nuts with standard metric coarse threads, designed to provide a tamper-resistant fixing after installation.</p>
<p>These security nuts have a hexagon drive section that can be tightened using a standard spanner or socket. At a predetermined torque, the hexagon section shears away, leaving a tamper-resistant cone that is difficult to remove with standard hand tools.</p>

<p>Shear nuts are commonly used for security fixings, anti-vandal installations, signage, fencing, barriers, public-area fixtures, access covers, brackets, outdoor equipment and other applications where removal resistance is required.</p>
<p>To install, tighten the nut using the upper hexagon section. Once the required shear torque is reached, the hexagon section breaks away and leaves the cone-shaped security nut in place.</p>
<p>Galvanised finish offers improved corrosion resistance compared with plain or zinc plated steel, making these nuts suitable for many outdoor fixing applications. Suitability should still be checked for coastal, marine or highly corrosive environments.</p>
<p>Please note: These nuts are intended as a tamper-resistant fixing, not a fully tamper-proof fixing. Removal may still be possible with specialist tools or destructive methods.</p>
