Product Description
Metric zinc plated steel external serrated shakeproof washers, available in M2, M4, M6 and M16 nominal sizes.
These locking washers feature external teeth around the outside edge. When tightened beneath a screw head or nut, the serrations bite into the adjoining surfaces to increase resistance to rotation and help reduce loosening caused by vibration or movement.

External shakeproof washers are commonly used in machinery, electrical equipment, automotive assemblies, brackets, panels, appliances and general engineering applications where vibration could cause a conventional fastener to loosen.
The externally positioned teeth provide a larger serrated contact area than an internally toothed washer. They are particularly useful where the washer teeth can engage beneath a comparatively wide screw head, bolt head or nut.
Zinc plating provides general corrosion resistance for indoor and sheltered applications. For outdoor, marine, coastal or more corrosive environments, stainless steel washers may be more suitable.
For effective locking performance, the serrations must be able to bite into the mating surfaces. These washers may mark painted, plated or decorative finishes and may not perform effectively against very hard or unsuitable surfaces.
