Product Description
1/32" diameter zinc plated steel cotter pins, also commonly known as split pins, available in a 3/8" overall length.
These split pins are used to secure castellated nuts, clevis pins, shafts, linkages and other components where a simple and reliable mechanical retaining method is required. Once inserted through a drilled hole, the two legs are bent apart to help prevent the pin from working loose.

Cotter split pins are commonly used in automotive, agricultural, mechanical, engineering, machinery, linkage and general maintenance applications. Typical uses include retaining castellated nuts, clevis pins, pivot pins, axles and other drilled components.
Zinc plating provides general corrosion resistance for indoor and sheltered applications. For outdoor, marine, coastal or more corrosive environments, stainless steel split pins may be more suitable.
Split pins are normally considered single-use components. Once removed or repeatedly bent, they should be replaced rather than reused, particularly in safety-critical applications.
