Product Description
7/64" diameter zinc plated steel cotter pins, also commonly known as split pins, available in a 1 1/2" overall length.
These split pins provide a simple and dependable method of retaining castellated nuts, clevis pins, shafts, axles, linkages and other drilled components. Once inserted through the retaining hole, the two legs are bent apart to help prevent the pin from becoming dislodged.

These cotter split pins are suitable for automotive, agricultural, trailer, machinery, engineering, linkage and general maintenance applications. Typical uses include retaining castellated nuts, clevis pins, pivot pins, axles and other components with a suitable drilled retaining hole.
Zinc plating provides general corrosion resistance for indoor and sheltered applications. For prolonged outdoor, marine, coastal or highly corrosive environments, stainless steel split pins may be more suitable.
Split pins are normally considered single-use retaining components. Once removed, straightened or repeatedly bent, they should be replaced rather than reused, particularly in safety-critical or heavily loaded applications.
Always ensure the split pin diameter and length are compatible with the drilled hole and the component being retained. The legs should extend sufficiently beyond the hole to allow secure bending after installation.
