Product Description
No.12 A2 stainless steel pan slotted self-tapping screws manufactured to DIN 7971, available in a 3/4" imperial length.
These Type AB self-tapping screws feature a pan head with a traditional slotted drive and a sharp point. The thread is designed to form a mating thread as the screw is installed into a correctly sized pilot hole in suitable sheet materials, plastics and other compatible components.

Pan slotted self-tapping screws are commonly used for fixing panels, covers, brackets, electrical equipment, appliances, machinery components and general engineering assemblies.
The pan head provides a broad bearing surface above the material, while the slotted drive is suitable for applications where a traditional flat-blade screwdriver or period-correct appearance is preferred.
Type AB self-tapping screws combine a fine-pitch tapping thread with a sharp point. A correctly sized pilot hole is normally required, with the appropriate diameter depending on the material type, hardness and thickness.
A2 stainless steel provides good general corrosion resistance for indoor and outdoor applications. For marine, coastal, swimming-pool or highly corrosive environments, A4 stainless steel may be more suitable.
These screws are self-tapping rather than self-drilling. A pilot hole is therefore normally required, particularly when installing into metal or other hard materials.
For pan head screws, the length is measured from beneath the head to the end of the point.
