Product Description
8-32 UNC A2 Stainless Steel Raised Countersunk Phillips Machine Screws
These 8-32 UNC machine screws are manufactured from corrosion-resistant A2 stainless steel and feature a raised countersunk, also known as oval, head with a Phillips cross recess.
The countersunk underside locates into a compatible countersink while the slightly domed crown remains visible above the surface, providing a neat, decorative finish. The Phillips recess allows convenient installation using a compatible cross-head screwdriver or driver bit.
The 8-32 UNC thread has a nominal major diameter of 0.164 inches (approximately 4.17mm) and 32 threads per inch. These screws are suitable for use with compatible 8-32 UNC nuts or correctly tapped holes.
Typical Applications
- Automotive and motorcycle trim
- Electrical panels and equipment enclosures
- Marine and general exterior fittings
- Decorative metalwork and fabrication
- Machinery covers, guards and access panels
- Restoration and imperial engineering projects

For raised countersunk or oval-head screws, the nominal length follows the countersunk-head measuring convention. The overall tip-to-crown dimension is slightly greater because of the raised portion above the countersunk surface.
A2 stainless steel provides good corrosion resistance for general engineering, automotive and outdoor applications. For marine, coastal or chemically aggressive environments, consider A4 stainless steel where available.
Use a compatible 82-degree imperial countersink. Metric 90-degree countersinks do not match the standard imperial head angle and may prevent the screw from seating correctly.
