Product Description
4.8mm Aluminium/Steel Sealed Countersunk Blind Rivets
These 4.8mm sealed countersunk blind rivets have a solid aluminium body and steel break-pull mandrel. The closed-end body helps reduce the passage of moisture, air and dirt through the rivet body compared with a conventional open-end blind rivet.
The countersunk head provides a neat, substantially flush finish when installed in a correctly prepared countersink. Blind installation means the rivet can be fitted where access is only available from one side of the workpiece.
- Nominal diameter: 4.8mm
- Body material: Solid aluminium
- Mandrel material: Self-colour steel
- Head type: 120° countersunk
- Construction: Sealed/closed-end blind rivet
- Recommended hole diameter: 4.9mm
- Available lengths: 10mm, 13mm, 14mm, 16mm and 19mm
- Installation: Standard blind-rivet setting tool suitable for 4.8mm rivets
Choose a rivet whose stated grip range contains the combined thickness of the materials being joined. Correct hole preparation and countersink geometry are important for secure installation and a flush finish.
Typical Applications
- Automotive panels and bodywork
- Sheet-metal fabrication
- Enclosures, cabinets and electrical equipment
- Ventilation and ducting components
- Repairs requiring installation from one side
- Assemblies where a sealed rivet body is preferred
Please note: A sealed rivet can improve resistance to leakage through the rivet body, but the completed joint should not automatically be treated as watertight. Joint design, hole condition, countersink preparation and any additional sealant determine the sealing performance.
