Product Description
M3 A2 Stainless Steel Socket Button Head Machine Screws
These M3 socket button head machine screws are manufactured from corrosion-resistant A2 stainless steel and feature a low-profile, rounded head with an internal hexagon socket. The button head provides a neat finished appearance while requiring less vertical clearance than a conventional socket cap screw.
Supplied with a standard M3 metric coarse thread, these screws are suitable for machinery, equipment, electronics, automotive assemblies and general engineering applications where corrosion resistance and a low-profile head are required.

- Panels, guards and enclosures
- Fixtures and lightweight assemblies
- Applications requiring a neat, low-profile head
Reduced Head Loadability
Socket button head screws manufactured to ISO 7380-1 have reduced loadability due to the combination of the shallow button head and internal hexagon socket. The standard assumes head loadability equivalent to approximately 80% of the loadability in the threaded section. They should not be used as direct strength replacements for standard socket cap screws without checking the application requirements.
Installation Information
Install using a correctly fitting 2mm hexagon key and a matching M3 x 0.5 nut or tapped hole. Avoid excessive tightening because the shallow internal socket and reduced head section provide less load capacity than a conventional socket cap screw.
Stainless steel threads can gall or seize, particularly when tightened rapidly. A suitable anti-seize compound is recommended for repeated assembly or higher tightening loads.
