These No.12 x 1 1/2" countersunk slotted woodscrews are manufactured from brass to DIN 97. They combine a traditional appearance with good general corrosion resistance, making them particularly suitable for furniture, cabinetmaking, restoration and decorative joinery applications.
The traditional slotted drive complements brass hinges, catches, handles and other period-style fittings. Its countersunk head is designed to finish flush with, or slightly below, the surface of the timber for a neat finished appearance.

Installation Guidance
- Use a correctly fitting flat-bladed screwdriver to avoid damaging the slot.
- Drill a suitable pilot hole before installation, especially in hardwood.

- Use a separate countersink where a completely flush finish is needed.
- Consider forming the thread with a comparable steel screw before installing the brass screw.
- Drive carefully and avoid excessive torque because brass is softer than steel.
- Avoid impact drivers and high-speed powered installation.
Material guidance: Brass provides an attractive finish and good general corrosion resistance but is softer and less mechanically strong than steel. These screws should not be used for structural, safety-critical or high-load applications.
