No.12 Solid Brass Round Head Slotted Wood Screws
These traditional No.12 wood screws are manufactured from solid brass rather than brass-plated steel. They combine a decorative round head with a conventional slotted drive, making them particularly suitable for furniture, joinery, architectural fittings and restoration work.
The raised round head remains visible above the fitted component and provides a traditional finished appearance. Solid brass offers good general corrosion resistance and is well suited to use with brass hinges, handles, catches, brackets and other decorative hardware.

Installation Guidance
Brass is softer than steel, so a correctly sized pilot hole should be drilled before installation. This is especially important when working with hardwoods or near the edge of a timber component.
For demanding installations, a similar-sized steel screw can first be used to form the thread in the pilot hole. Remove the steel screw and carefully install the brass screw using a correctly fitting flat-bladed screwdriver.
Avoid excessive torque and powered impact drivers, as these may damage the slot, distort the head or fracture the brass screw. Ensure the slot width of the screwdriver closely matches the screw head for the best appearance.
