Product Description
Metric A2 Stainless Steel Slotted Spring Roll Pins DIN 1481
Metric slotted spring pins manufactured from A2 stainless steel to DIN 1481. Also known as roll pins, tension pins or expansion pins, they provide a self-retaining fixing for machinery, repairs and general engineering assemblies.
The hollow body has a longitudinal slot that allows the pin to compress during installation. Its spring action presses against the surrounding hole to retain the pin and secure the mating components.

Understanding Nominal Diameter
The free outside diameter of a slotted spring pin is larger than its nominal diameter. The pin compresses when fitted into the specified hole, creating the spring tension needed for retention. Do not select the installation hole size from the pin's uncompressed outside diameter.
Fitting Advice
Check the specified hole diameter and tolerance for your application. Align and support the components, then install the pin squarely using a suitable spring pin punch or press tool. Avoid damaging the pin ends or forcing the pin into an incorrectly sized hole.
