1" Model Engineering carbon steel round dies for cleaning, chasing and restoring existing external Model Engineer threads.
These UK made circular dies are manufactured from carbon steel and are intended primarily for repairing damaged, dirty or lightly corroded threads on model engineering components, miniature fittings, studs, shafts and other precision parts.

Carbon steel dies are primarily recommended for cleaning and restoring existing threads. For regular production of new threads, a suitable high speed steel die may be preferable.
For best results, use with a suitable 1" die stock and thread-cutting lubricant. Start the die square to the workpiece and periodically reverse it slightly to help break and clear swarf.
