British Standard Whitworth high speed steel straight flute taps for cutting new internal BSW threads.
These high-quality UK made HSS taps are suitable for producing internal Whitworth threads in machinery, classic vehicles, restoration projects, agricultural equipment and general engineering components. BSW uses a 55-degree thread profile with rounded thread crests and roots.

Complete sets include the 1st taper, 2nd intermediate and 3rd bottoming taps. Sets are supplied in a plastic case, while individual taps are supplied in plastic bags.
For best results, use the correct tapping drill size and a suitable thread-cutting lubricant. Keep the tap square to the workpiece and periodically reverse it slightly to help break and clear the swarf.
