No.8 A2 stainless steel Pozi flange-head self-tapping screws manufactured to BS 4174, available in imperial lengths from 3/8" to 2".
These Type AB self-tapping screws feature a cross-recessed Pozi drive, sharp point and wide integral flange beneath the head. The flange provides a larger bearing surface than a conventional pan head, helping to spread the clamping load and potentially removing the need for a separate flat washer in suitable applications.

Pozi flange-head self-tapping screws are commonly used for securing panels, covers, brackets, electrical equipment, appliances, machinery components, automotive trim and general engineering assemblies.
The integral flange spreads the clamping force over a wider area than a standard screw head. This can help reduce localised pressure on thinner materials and may remove the need to handle a separate washer during repetitive assembly work.
The Pozi drive provides positive engagement with a correctly sized Pozi screwdriver bit, helping to transmit installation torque and reduce driver slip.
Type AB self-tapping screws combine a fine tapping thread with a sharp point. They form a mating thread as they are driven into a correctly sized pilot hole in suitable sheet metal, plastics and other compatible materials.
A2 stainless steel provides good general corrosion resistance for indoor and outdoor applications. For marine, coastal, swimming-pool or highly corrosive environments, A4 stainless steel may be more suitable.
These screws are self-tapping rather than self-drilling. A correctly sized pilot hole is normally required, particularly when installing into metal or other hard materials.
For flange-head screws, the length is measured from beneath the flange to the end of the point.
