Product Description
5/16"-18 UNC grade 12.9 zinc-plated steel socket cap set screws, available in 3/4" and 1" lengths.
These high-strength socket head cap screws have a fully threaded set-screw design and an internal hexagon drive. The cylindrical cap head allows high tightening torque to be applied in machinery, engineering assemblies and applications where access around the fastener head is restricted.

These socket cap set screws are suitable for machinery, automotive assemblies, motorsport, tooling, fabrication, equipment repairs and general engineering applications requiring a compact high-strength fastener.
The coarse 18 TPI UNC thread is commonly used where good resistance to thread damage, straightforward assembly and reliable engagement in steel, cast iron and other suitable materials are required.
The fully threaded design allows the fastener to be tightened along most or all of its usable length. This makes set screws useful where varying material thicknesses or maximum thread engagement are required.
The internal hexagon drive provides a positive connection with the installation tool and allows greater tightening torque than many slotted or cross-recessed screw drives. Always use the correct-size hex key or socket bit to reduce the risk of damaging the drive recess.
The zinc-plated finish provides a degree of protection against corrosion during general indoor use and in sheltered environments. It is not normally recommended for prolonged exposure to marine, coastal or highly corrosive conditions.
Socket cap screw length is measured from directly beneath the head to the end of the screw. The head is not included in the stated length.
