Product Description
10-24 UNC A2 stainless steel socket button-head machine screws with an internal hexagon drive, available in lengths from 3/8" to 1".
These imperial machine screws feature a low-profile rounded button head with a smooth, neat appearance. The internal Allen-key drive provides positive tool engagement, making them suitable for machinery, equipment, panels, brackets and assemblies where a conventional socket-cap head would project too far above the surface.

These No.10 UNC socket button-head screws are suitable for machinery, automotive components, electrical equipment, instrumentation, brackets, guards, panels, furniture, fabrication and general engineering assemblies.
The 24 TPI Unified National Coarse thread provides a widely used imperial machine-screw connection. The mating nut, threaded insert or tapped hole must have the corresponding 10-24 UNC thread.
The low rounded button head has a broader and shallower profile than a standard cylindrical socket-cap head. This provides a tidy finished appearance and reduces head projection, although a button-head screw generally has a smaller drive recess and lower maximum tightening capacity than an equivalent standard socket-cap screw.
The internal hexagon drive allows installation with a 1/8" Allen key or hex socket bit. Use a correctly sized, good-quality tool fully inserted into the recess to reduce the risk of rounding the socket.
A2 stainless steel provides good resistance to general atmospheric corrosion and is suitable for many indoor and outdoor applications. For coastal, marine, swimming-pool or highly corrosive environments, A4 stainless steel may be more appropriate.
Stainless steel fasteners can be susceptible to thread galling, particularly when installed quickly or without lubrication. Where appropriate, use a suitable anti-seize compound, keep the mating threads clean and tighten at a controlled speed.
Button-head screw length is measured from directly beneath the head to the end of the screw. The rounded head is not included in the stated length.
Please note: ASME B18.3 is used as the dimensional reference for this inch-series socket button-head pattern. No separate British Standard has been verified for this specific imperial button-head design. The product page does not explicitly state the thread length, so full-thread coverage should be checked if it is critical to the application. Specifications are intended as a guide only.
