Product Description
M5 A2 Stainless Steel Hexagon Head Bolts With Shank – DIN 931
These M5 hexagon head bolts are manufactured from A2 stainless steel and feature a partially threaded shank to the DIN 931 dimensional pattern. They have a standard M5 x 0.8mm metric coarse thread and are available in lengths from 30mm to 100mm.
The plain, unthreaded section provides a consistent bearing surface through the joint. These bolts are suitable for machinery, equipment, fabrication, automotive work, maintenance and general engineering applications where a part-threaded metric fastener is required.

Thread and shank lengths
Overall bolt length is measured from beneath the hexagon head to the end of the bolt. These M5 DIN 931-pattern bolts have an approximate standard thread length of 16mm. Plain shank length is calculated by subtracting this thread length from the overall bolt length.
A2 stainless steel
A2 stainless steel provides good corrosion resistance in many indoor and general outdoor environments without requiring an additional protective coating. A4 stainless steel is normally preferable for coastal, marine, swimming-pool and other chloride-rich environments.
Stainless-steel threads can be susceptible to galling during installation. Use clean mating threads, a suitable anti-seize compound and a controlled installation speed, particularly when assembling stainless bolts and nuts together.
