Product Description
6mm Aluminium and Steel Blind Pop Rivets
These 6mm standard blind pop rivets feature a lightweight aluminium body and a zinc-plated steel break mandrel. Their larger diameter makes them suitable for applications requiring a more substantial blind fastening than smaller general-purpose pop rivets.
Blind rivets provide a quick and permanent method of joining panels and components where access is available from only one side of the assembly. The standard dome head—described as a protruding head in ISO terminology—provides a broad bearing surface and distributes the clamping load across the surrounding material.
Key Features
- Nominal rivet diameter: 6mm
- Available lengths: 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm and 18mm
- Body material: aluminium alloy
- Mandrel material: zinc-plated steel
- Head style: standard dome or protruding head
- Open-end blind-rivet construction
- Suitable for installation from one side of the workpiece
- Available individually or in bulk pack quantities
*The existing page lists the maximum grip for the 6mm x 16mm rivet as 1mm. This appears to be a typographical error; an 11mm maximum would follow the dimensional sequence, but it must be confirmed against the supplier's technical data before publication.
Select a rivet whose stated grip range includes the total combined thickness of the materials being joined. Prepare a clean 6.1mm installation hole and use a heavy-duty riveting tool with sufficient capacity for 6mm aluminium blind rivets.
Typical Applications
- Sheet-metal fabrication
- Commercial vehicle panels and bodywork
- Machinery guards and equipment housings
- Trailers, containers and storage equipment
- Signs, brackets and enclosures
- Ventilation and ducting assemblies
- General engineering and maintenance work
Applicable Standards
ISO 15977 and its identical British adoption, BS EN ISO 15977, cover open-end blind rivets with break-pull mandrels, protruding heads, aluminium alloy bodies and steel mandrels in nominal diameters from 2.4mm up to and including 6.4mm.
DIN 7337 is the related withdrawn legacy standard for break-mandrel blind rivets. It has been replaced by material- and head-specific EN ISO standards, with DIN EN ISO 15977 applying to this aluminium-body and steel-mandrel combination.
Compliance with these standards should only be stated where the product's dimensions, materials, tolerances and mechanical properties have been verified against the relevant standard.
Please note that specifications are provided as a guide. Check all critical dimensions, grip requirements, tool capacity and material compatibility before ordering.
