Product Description
3/8"-16 UNC A2 Stainless-Steel Socket Cap Screws
These 3/8"-16 UNC socket cap screws are manufactured from A2 stainless steel and are fully threaded along their available length. The 16 threads per inch Unified National Coarse thread makes them suitable for compatible imperial machinery, equipment and engineering assemblies.
The cylindrical socket cap head incorporates an internal hexagon drive, providing secure tool engagement while allowing installation where access around the fastener head is restricted.
Features and Benefits
- A2 stainless steel provides good general-purpose corrosion resistance
- 3/8"-16 UNC thread for compatible imperial assemblies
- Fully threaded design maximises usable thread engagement
- Compact socket cap head is suitable for restricted spaces
- Internal hexagon drive provides secure tool engagement
- ASME B18.3-style imperial socket cap configuration
- Available in 1" and 1 1/2" lengths
Typical Applications
Suitable for imperial machinery, automotive components, brackets, enclosures, tooling, fixtures and general engineering assemblies requiring a fully threaded 3/8"-16 UNC stainless-steel fastener.
Installation Guidance
Confirm that the mating component has a 3/8"-16 UNC thread before installation. These screws are not interchangeable with 3/8"-24 UNF or similarly sized metric threads.
Screw length is measured from beneath the socket cap head to the end of the fastener. Use a correctly fitting imperial hex key and apply a tightening torque suitable for the joint, mating material and application.
Stainless-steel threads can be susceptible to galling. Using a suitable anti-seize compound and installing at a controlled speed can help reduce this risk.
A2 stainless steel is suitable for many general-purpose applications but may not be appropriate for prolonged salt-water, marine or aggressive chemical exposure. Consider A4 stainless steel where greater corrosion resistance is required.
Please note that the head diameter, head height and hexagon key size are not published for these products. Confirm any dimensional, safety-critical or application-critical requirements before ordering.
