Product Description
No.12 x 1 1/2" A2 Stainless Pan Pozi Self-Drilling Tek Screws – DIN 7504 MZ
These No.12 x 1 1/2" self-drilling screws are manufactured from A2 stainless steel to DIN 7504 MZ. They feature a pan head, Pozidriv recess, self-tapping thread and drill point for drilling and fastening in a single installation operation when used with a suitable substrate.
The pan head provides a broad bearing surface for clamping sheet, panels and components without the need for a countersunk hole. The Pozidriv recess provides positive engagement with the correct driver bit and helps transfer installation torque effectively.

Available Size
| Nominal Size | Length | Material | Head | Drive | Standard |

As this screw has a pan head, the stated length is measured from beneath the head to the end of the drilling point. The drilling point forms part of the nominal length, so the usable clamping length is shorter than 1 1/2".
Available Pack Sizes
Available in packs of 1 to 10, plus packs of 20, 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000.
Features and Benefits
- Manufactured to DIN 7504 MZ
- A2 stainless steel provides good general corrosion resistance
- Drilling and thread-forming functions combined in one fastener
- Pan head provides a broad clamping and bearing surface
- Pozidriv recess provides positive engagement with the correct driver bit
- Can reduce the need for a separate drilling and tapping operation
- Suitable for installation where the material and drill capacity are compatible
- Available in individual, small-pack and bulk quantities
Typical Applications
- Aluminium sheet and profiles
- Panels, covers and equipment housings
- Plastic and composite components where suitable
- Ducting and ventilation fittings
- General fabrication and maintenance
- Applications requiring a corrosion-resistant pan-head fastener
Installation Guidance
- Use the correct Pozidriv driver bit rather than a Phillips bit.
- Confirm the material type and thickness are within the screw's rated drilling capacity.
- Hold the driver square to the screw and apply steady axial pressure.
- Allow the drill point to penetrate the material before the thread begins to engage.
- Use controlled speed and torque to avoid overheating or damaging the drill point.
- Do not overtighten after the underside of the pan head contacts the component.
- Check the required thread engagement and clamping length before installation.
Drilling-capacity warning: Conventional A2 stainless steel is not hardened to the same degree as carbon-steel self-drilling screws. Unless the exact product has a separately hardened or bimetal drill point, it should not automatically be assumed capable of drilling carbon steel or stainless steel.
These screws are generally more appropriate for compatible softer materials, such as aluminium, plastic and similar substrates. Always follow the manufacturer's stated drilling capacity for the exact screw. A pilot hole may be required where the substrate exceeds its drilling capability.
Corrosion guidance: A2 stainless steel provides good resistance in many indoor and mildly exposed outdoor environments. For marine, coastal, swimming-pool, chemical or other chloride-rich conditions, A4 stainless steel may be more appropriate.
