Product Description
Metric A2 Stainless Steel Retaining Wire R-Clips – Beta Pins
These metric A2 stainless steel R-clips, also known as beta pins or hairpin retaining clips, are used to retain clevis pins, pivot pins and other cross-drilled components. Their formed wire design allows quick fitting and removal, making them useful for assemblies that require regular access or maintenance.
The straight leg passes through the retaining hole while the curved leg grips around the outside of the pin or shaft. The clips can be removed and reused while they remain undamaged and retain their spring action. A2 stainless steel provides corrosion resistance for many general engineering and outdoor applications.

Typical Applications
- Retaining clevis pins and pivot pins.
- Removable linkages and machinery components.
- Garden and agricultural equipment.
- Assemblies requiring frequent dismantling or maintenance.
Selecting Your R-Clip
Choose the wire thickness to suit the retaining hole, and check that the clip profile and length suit the outside diameter of the pin or shaft. Wire thickness is the diameter of the clip wire, not the diameter of the shaft it retains.
Push the straight leg through the retaining hole until the curved leg securely engages around the pin. Check that the clip is fully seated and replace clips that are bent, damaged or no longer grip firmly.
