The nominal size identifies the matching fastener diameter, rather than the washer's exact bore or external diameter. Select by diameter when using UNC, UNF, BSF or other compatible imperial fasteners.
Rectangular section describes the cross-section of the spring washer material, not a rectangular overall washer shape.
