Product Description
M3 Pan Torx Thread Forming Screws – Zinc Plated DIN 7500
M3 pan head Torx thread forming screws manufactured from case hardened steel with a zinc plated and waxed finish. These screws form a mating thread in a correctly sized pilot hole, allowing assembly without a separate tapping operation.
The trilobular thread forming design displaces the receiving material during installation. The pan head provides a raised bearing surface, while the Torx drive allows positive engagement with a matching driver bit.

Key Features
- Forms a mating thread in a suitably prepared pilot hole.
- Removes the need for a separate tapping operation.
- Case hardened steel construction.
- Zinc plating provides corrosion protection.
- Waxed finish helps reduce friction during installation.
- Pan head with Torx drive for positive driver engagement.
Typical Applications
Suitable for compatible metal assemblies, including brackets, housings, enclosures and equipment components where a thread can be formed directly in the receiving material. Suitability depends on material hardness, thickness and pilot hole preparation.
Installation
Use a pilot hole specified for the receiving material and its thickness. Thread forming screws require application-specific hole sizing; do not automatically use the tapping drill size for a conventional M3 machine thread.
Drive the screw squarely using a correctly fitting Torx bit and controlled installation torque. Allow sufficient hole depth for the forming lead when installing into blind holes. These screws require a prepared hole and do not drill their own hole.
Ordering
Select your required screw length and pack quantity from the available options before adding to your basket.
