Product Description
M6 Zinc Plated Pan Torx Thread Forming TriTap Screws – DIN 7500
These M6 pan Torx thread forming screws are manufactured from case hardened steel with a zinc plated and waxed finish. Designed to DIN 7500, the TriTap thread forming profile creates a mating thread as the screw is driven into a correctly sized pilot hole in suitable material.
The thread is formed by displacing material rather than cutting it, removing the need for a separate tapping operation in suitable applications. The pan head provides a flat bearing surface, while the Torx drive offers positive engagement during installation.
Key Features
- M6 metric thread: nominal 6mm diameter with a 1.0mm pitch.
- TriTap thread forming design: forms the mating thread in a prepared hole.
- Case hardened steel: provides the surface hardness required for thread forming.
- Zinc plated finish: adds corrosion protection to the steel.
- Waxed coating: helps reduce friction during installation.
- Pan Torx head: combines a raised head with a six-lobe drive.

Typical Applications
Suitable for engineering assemblies, metal housings, brackets and equipment manufacture where the receiving material and hole dimensions allow thread forming. Common applications include suitable steel and aluminium components with prepared holes.
Fitting Advice
These screws require a correctly sized pre-drilled, punched or cored hole. The required pilot hole diameter depends on the receiving material, its thickness and the thread engagement required. They do not drill their own hole.
Use a correctly fitting Torx driver and a controlled tightening torque. When selecting the screw length, allow for the component thickness and sufficient engagement beyond the forming lead.
Select your required length and pack size from the available options.
