Product Description
M3 x 0.5 A2 Stainless Steel Hexagon Set Screws
These M3 A2 stainless steel hexagon set screws have a fully threaded shank and a standard 0.5mm metric coarse thread. They provide good resistance to everyday corrosion and are suitable for precision equipment, machinery, enclosures and general engineering assemblies.
The screws are listed to DIN 933 dimensions. The current corresponding international and British standard is ISO 4017 / BS EN ISO 4017, covering fully threaded hexagon head screws manufactured from steel and stainless steel.

Benefits of A2 Stainless Steel
- Good resistance to moisture and atmospheric corrosion
- Suitable for many indoor and general outdoor applications
- No protective zinc coating to chip or wear away
- Clean appearance suitable for exposed assemblies
- Fully threaded design provides maximum adjustment and engagement
Typical Applications
- Electrical and electronic equipment
- Instrumentation and control systems
- Small machinery and precision assemblies
- Automotive and motorcycle components
- Brackets, panels and equipment enclosures
- Model engineering and general maintenance
Installation Guidance
Install using a correctly fitting 5.5mm spanner or socket. Avoid excessive tightening force, particularly when fastening into aluminium, plastic or another soft material.
Stainless steel threads can gall or seize when assembled quickly or under high pressure. A suitable anti-seize compound may be beneficial where the fasteners will be tightened repeatedly or subsequently removed.
A2 stainless steel is suitable for many general applications but may not be appropriate for prolonged exposure to seawater, salt spray or strongly chlorinated environments. A4 stainless steel should be considered for more demanding marine and chloride-rich conditions.
