Product Description
6.4mm Aluminium/Steel Sealed Dome-Head Blind Rivets
These 6.4mm sealed blind rivets feature an aluminium-alloy rivet body and a steel break-pull mandrel. Their closed-end construction helps restrict the passage of moisture, air and contaminants through the centre of the installed rivet when compared with a conventional open-end blind rivet.
The dome, or protruding, head provides a broad bearing surface while blind installation allows the rivet to be fitted where access is available from only one side of the workpiece.

Typical Applications
Suitable for sheet-metal fabrication, vehicle and trailer panels, enclosures, ducting, signs, appliances, maintenance and general engineering applications where installation is possible from only one side.
Choosing and Installing the Rivet
This rivet is intended for a total combined material thickness between 1.5mm and 6.5mm. The grip range refers to the complete thickness of all materials being joined, not the 12mm rivet body length.
Drill or prepare a clean 6.5mm installation hole. Remove burrs and hold the materials firmly together before inserting and setting the rivet. Use a riveting tool and nosepiece rated for 6.4mm blind rivets.
Because 6.4mm rivets require greater setting force than smaller diameters, confirm that the installation tool has sufficient capacity before use.
Sealing Guidance
Closed-end rivets provide improved sealing compared with conventional open-end blind rivets. However, the finished joint should not automatically be assumed to be completely waterproof, airtight or pressure-tight.
Joint design, hole condition, surface finish and installation quality all affect sealing performance. Use a suitable sealant or sealing washer where a verified watertight or airtight joint is required.
Please note that published dimensions and specifications are intended as a guide. Confirm any safety-critical, structural or sealing requirements before ordering.
