Product Description
No.8-36 UNF A2 Stainless-Steel Socket Cap Screws
These No.8-36 UNF socket cap screws are manufactured from A2 stainless steel and are fully threaded along their available length. The 36 threads per inch Unified National Fine thread makes them suitable for compatible imperial machinery, equipment, instrumentation and engineering assemblies.
The cylindrical socket cap head incorporates an internal hexagon drive, providing secure tool engagement while allowing installation where access around the fastener head is restricted.

Typical Applications
Suitable for imperial machinery, automotive components, instrumentation, electronics, brackets, enclosures, tooling and general engineering assemblies requiring a fully threaded No.8-36 UNF stainless-steel fastener.
Installation Guidance
Confirm that the mating component has a No.8-36 UNF thread before installation. These screws are not interchangeable with No.8-32 UNC or similarly sized metric threads.
Screw length is measured from beneath the socket cap head to the end of the fastener. Check the socket with a properly fitting imperial hex key before applying installation torque, because the published 1/8-inch key size should be confirmed against the supplied product.
Apply a tightening torque suitable for the joint, mating material and application. Avoid using carbon-steel torque figures unless the strength class of the stainless-steel screw has been confirmed.
Stainless-steel threads can be susceptible to galling. Using a suitable anti-seize compound and installing at a controlled speed can help reduce this risk.
A2 stainless steel is suitable for many general-purpose applications but may not be appropriate for prolonged salt-water, marine or aggressive chemical exposure. Consider A4 stainless steel where greater corrosion resistance is required.
Please note that published dimensions are intended as a guide. Confirm the socket size and any safety-critical or application-critical requirements before ordering.
