Product Description
M8 A2 Stainless Steel Fully Threaded Hexagon Set Screws – DIN 933
M8 fully threaded hexagon head set screws manufactured from corrosion-resistant A2 stainless steel. These fasteners have a standard M8 x 1.25 metric coarse thread and are made to the traditional DIN 933 dimensional pattern.
Also covered dimensionally at M8 by ISO 4017 and BS EN ISO 4017, these set screws are suitable for engineering, fabrication, machinery, automotive and maintenance applications requiring corrosion resistance and a conventional external hexagon drive.

DIN, ISO and British Standards
DIN 933 is the traditional German standard for fully threaded metric hexagon head screws. The listed M8 dimensions of a 13mm width across flats, 5.3mm head height and 1.25mm pitch correspond with the DIN 933 pattern.
DIN 933 remains a widely recognised commercial designation even though ISO 4017 is now the current international product standard.
A2 Stainless Steel
A2 is an austenitic stainless steel grade offering good corrosion resistance in normal indoor, outdoor and mildly damp environments. It is commonly used in general engineering, construction, vehicle maintenance and stainless steel fabrication.
Typical Applications
- General engineering and machinery
- Automotive and vehicle maintenance
- Stainless steel fabrication
- Construction and outdoor assemblies
- Food-processing and workshop equipment
- Repair and maintenance work
Installation Advice
Ensure that the mating nut or internally threaded component has an M8 x 1.25 metric coarse thread. Tightening torque should be selected according to the confirmed stainless property class, joint design, mating material and lubrication condition.
Stainless steel threads can gall or seize, especially when installed quickly or without lubrication. Use a suitable anti-galling compound, assemble at a controlled speed and avoid excessive tightening.
